The Town of Carbondale Recreation Department along with Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities invites children and adults of all ages to light up downtown Carbondale and welcome Santa. For kids under 6 years, Santa will make a special stop at the 3rd Street Center in the afternoon from 3-4:30pm.
All trykes, bikes, and other wheeled-revelers are invited to join the 2nd Annual Parade of Bike Lights. Meet at the Third Street Center at 4:45pm to trick out your ride and then help lead Santa’s sleigh to the Forest Service Tree at Main and Weant around 5:15pm. We will sing some festive holiday songs, then around 5:30pm we will light the tree.
The Parade of Bike Lights will then escort Santa and the carolers to the 4th Street Plaza at about 5:45pm. The lights on all of the trees lining Main Street will come on with a little holiday magic when Santa reaches the Plaza.
At the Plaza, there will be more caroling, free hot chocolate and cookies, and a bonfire and roasted marshmallows to keep you warm.
Santa’s sleigh will loop back to the Third Street Center around 6pm and kids of all ages are welcome to hop on board or follow along to tell him what they would like for Christmas. Santa will stay at the Third Street Center until 8pm while his sleigh loops continuously from there to the Plaza and back.
Date: Friday, December 6
Location: 3rd Street Center & 4th Street Plaza
