Climbing Clinics

 $45 ($35 early registration for 3-hour clinics); $35 ($25 early registration) for 2-hour clinics
Location: Carbondale Recreation and Community Center Climbing Wall

Registration Deadline: Must register one week prior in order to receive early registration discount

Must have current Climbing Wall Waiver on file at the CRCC.  Some clinics also require participants to be belayed certified at the CRCC–these certifications happen every Wednesday from 5:30-8:30pm and are included in any day drop-in or membership.

Intro to Rock Climbing for Ladies: October 5 (6-8pm)
Learn the basics of rock climbing and meet a supportive community of other like-minded ladies to climb with!  Topics include: top rope belaying, climbing technique, safety protocols, and fun activities to get practice and make friends.  Receive top rope/autobelay/bouldering certification through this class.

Indoor Lead Climbing Certification Clinic: October 26 (6-9pm)
Learn or refresh your knowledge on lead climbing, lead belaying, and build confidence through practice indoors. Must be top rope certified.

Climbing Technique Clinic: October 12 and December 7 (6-8pm)
Learn and practice techniques to climb efficiently and build confidence both physically and mentally.

Yoga for Climbers (and anyone!): November 9 (6:45pm-8:15pm; $25 or $15 early registration)
Learn postures and exercises to improve your climbing performance and prevent climbing injuries.  Flexibility and knowledge of yoga is not required.

Anchor Building and Cleaning Clinic: November 16 (6-8pm)
Learn and practice several methods of building rock climbing anchors, when to use them, and several methods for cleaning the anchor to retrieve your gear.  Be a better, more knowledgeable climber and partner with this information!  Must be top rope certified.

Lead Climbing Level Two: Coming in January! (6-9pm)
You already have your lead climb cert but might need practice to build up your confidence!  We will discuss techniques for improving your mental game, anchor building, specs on gear strength and forces created in a lead fall, and lots of practice and techniques for being a better lead climber and belayer!  Must be top rope AND lead certified.
