Light Up Carbondale

7 Dec 2018 – 7 Dec 2018

3:00 PM – 8:00 PM

The Town of Carbondale Parks and Recreation Department, Carbondale Arts, and the Carbondale Chamber First Friday Committee would like to invite children and adults of all ages to help Light up Carbondale with their singing voices and smiles and to welcome Santa to town. Light Up Carbondale takes place on First Friday, December 7.

Aboard his sleigh, Santa will perform his Christmas magic and light up the trees and holiday lights on Main Street.  Santa’s first stop with his sleigh will be at the large tree on Main Street & Weant Boulevard near the Forest Service building around 5:15pm.

This pedestrian parade will head down Main Street at 5:30 pm to the 4th St. Plaza. Join Santa at the 4th Street plaza for cookies, hot chocolate, marshmallow roasting at the bonfire, and music with The Renaissance (Cowboy) Chorale until 6pm.  Then queue up for your chance to ride on Santa’s sleigh around the block.

The Launch Pad will also feature holiday shopping at the Deck the Walls holiday show in the R2 Gallery, as well as excerpts of Crystal River Ballet’s Nutcracker at 6pm. Santa will also be available at the Launch Pad for visits from 3-7pm.

Feel the spirit, enjoy the season, warm up by the bonfire, and stroll around the many downtown shops, restaurants, & art galleries that are part of First Friday Light Up Carbondale Events.
